I am new to the PugHearts website, though a pug lover for sometime. I lost my beloved Pug, Barkley to intestinal cancer on April 9, 2009 and still miss him terribly. Hard as I try, I have not been able to visit pug websites until now. I am ready to help pugs in need, and what better way than Pughearts? I would like to attend some of your events and in the near future hopefully adopt. I live about 60 miles sw of sugarland. I will start by sending my monthly donation to Pughearts, as my heart will always belong to Pugs.

Last spring, my son and I were heartbroken over the loss of one of our dogs, a sweet pug named Ramsay who moved away. Once again, we turned to PugHearts to fill the void. After a home visit with a dog that didnt get along with our other two, we thought wed never find another pug. A few days later, a call came from Cindy. She hadnt even made it back from Louisiana after picking up some dogs, but she had a dog who she was sure would fit right in! After being checked out at the vets, we took Cesar home as a foster. I remember Cindy telling me I hope this is a failed foster! She was right. He is ours...or, well, more like we are his. He is the cutest thing and fits right in with our other two. The five of us make up our own family! Thank you, Cindy and all, for your hard work in bringing love to the rest of us!

About a year and a half ago we were fortunate enough to adopt arnold. He quickly took over our home, and it was as if he had been with us his whole life. Elvis (as he was known to our family) was one of the best dogs that anyone could ever ask for. He loved everyone, and loved going to the dog park. He enjoyed taking car rides, and never ran out of love to give. Unfortunately we lost the poor little guy just after his 2nd birthday to heartworms. Pughearts is one of the most amazing organizations that I have ever been associated with. They did so much to bring happiness to my family, it is my hope that one day I will once again be able to return the favor. Please, please, please do anything you can to help them out.

Hello, My name is Christine. I met Cindy at a party that she attended at my work possibly over a year ago. (restaurant in Sugar Land) SInce that day, I have checked the website daily. Just wondering if I could get an update on Ike. Has he found a forever home yet? I told myself that I couldnt have another pug, but I keep dreaming about this little guy. Maybe he is trying to tell me something......

I have been reading through the postings here and it is awesome! My wife and I lost our rat terrier about a year ago. I dont know if it is time to replace Bilbo just yet. I grew up with pugs and I think they are great. My wife not so. Any way, it is heartening to see all the people out there with their hearts in the right place-yall are what makes the world go round. When its time for us to get a new friend I will revisit this site with my wife and just maybe...

Hello ya'll Harley and Davidson here...Where should we begin?? April 2009 we were given a forever home by the wonder Cindy.. What a choice she made for us we are the center of attention here, we have 2 amazing kids to play with (they have more energy than we do), 2 Harley Davidson's that we get to drool on,and A king size bed that we take over each night. Once we were settled in mom and dad brought home a foster brother Hunter (Cassidy our human sister says he stays) So she and mom are saving his adoption money now. We love to vacation we have seen San Antonio, San Marcos, Galveston beach, and Our up coming trip California. Who could ask for more. Mom says we are good boys and she enjoys us more everyday. Thank you Cindy and PugHearts for helping us find our forever home we love it here it is perfect.

What a truly inspiring work of God PugHearts is. Cindy..she is an angel! We definitely made the right decision to adopt/rescue a dog in need vs purchasing a breeded dog. We hope that our small monthly donation will help some other dogs within the rescue...like precious Lola!!! Please let me know if another tiny lil pugger should become available for adoption. We are truly grateful for your thoughtfulness, concern and willingness to help. Thanks for everything... Angie, Josh, Yoda and Fudgems

Hello to all at PugHearts. I adopted Hannah (now Maggie), in March 2009. She is my sweetheart and I am her human. Her doggie best friend is my daughters pug Delia. They get so excited playing around with each other and with us. Thank you so much for letting me adopt her and for all the good work that you do for homeless pugs. Wish I could give you more. Best wishes.

What a wonderful group of people you are. We are making a recurring donation in memory of our beloved Tasha, a pug we rescued from a ditch, heartwork + and starving. She learned to love again and became a most cherished member of our family. Tasha passed to the Rainbow Bridge on July 13, 2008. We have 9 other rescue pugs and 3 non-rescues. We continue to support our Pug Rescues and rejoice at the love of you and our members. Thank you on behalf of all the pugs and pug lovers. Sharon & Bob

Hello everyone, this is Will checking in and it has been a long time since I was picked up by the animal cops. It has been about six weeks since I found my forever home and what a great six weeks it has been. I am learning to deal with cat siblings, which can be tough…I guess I just dont understand their games. They dont seem to mind when I sit quietly though…they come up to me and sniff. I even kissed them on their cheek or nose and they did not swat at me. I make dog friends wherever I go, and my best friend is a rat terrier I met on one of my walks. But my bestest friend of all is mom. I have lots of good food and am really loving me some couch time. She takes me on car rides and I love that; I am so smart that I can even pick out our car when we go to the parking garage. Some nights she puts pugs on YouTube and I sit in her lap and watch other puggies. Most times I fall asleep in her lap. She taught me to sing….she will howl softly, and I will join in, not so softly. I love sleeping in my little bed next to moms at night; I want to sleep with mom but she wont let me. She says she is worried about me trying to get down and hurting my hips or knees. That is okay though; I have my bed right next to hers and even have a “den” I built under her bed. I hide there while mom reads and then go to my bed when it is lights out time. I guess you can say that I am one spoiled little puggy but most who meet me think I deserve it. Thanks to PugHearts and Animal Cops, I am the happiest little pugboy alive. Will

Alica and I just made a donation in the memory of our sweet Bear who crossed The Bridge on July 6, 2009. We made this donation also in honor of Amanda and Cindy who nursed and loved him while we were away, and in thanks to God for blessing our lives with him. Bear shared his home with many PugHearts pugs during his life with us. We miss him dearly!

I let my Brother Scooter be alfa dog at our old house, but Im trying to gain that title at our new house! and Ive made some strides on the bed, now sleeping at the head of the bed instead of the foot. My Mom and new Dad take us for walks everyday we live next to a school and they have a big field that we get to run around in off leash and root around in the grass!! All and all I have a really good life!!!

Thank you to all who donated to Pug Hearts in honor of my mother, Guyla Mattocks and her pug Di-O-Ge. My Mom died recently after a very long illness. She loved her little pug, Di-O-Ge, and during her last months, her grand daughters would make her laugh and smile with stories about pugs. We are so honored that her memory will live on through donations to Pug Hearts and through one of your newest Rescue Pugs named Guyla! Gail

We fostered a pug from PugHearts shortly after Hurricane Ike. She is a 5 year old named Bella. We could not part with her and decided that our home would be her forever home. I am so happy that PugHearts rescued her and brought her to join our family. She is spoiled rotten and loves every minute of it. PugHearts does great things!! Keep up the good work!! We love you and support you whole-heartedly.

Hello! My husband and I brought our pug, Rocky, to the Haak Winery Benefit in December of 2008. It was a wonderful sight to see all of the pugs-in-need together and having such a GREAT time! We have not rescued a dog yet, but we will definitely adopt a rescue in the future! :) PugHearts is one of my FAVORITE charities. God Bless you and all of your kind-hearted work!!!!

I worked with PUGPROS rescue in California. My first pug was Tillie, who I had to put down due to Cushings when she was only 7 years old. The summer before that, I had to put down her brother, Boston, who was overdosed with anesthia during his teeth cleaning by Banfield. It was a rough year. I now work with CLABR in Clearlake Texas and have a loving, charming boy called Jack who we think is a combination of a chi and doxie. I love him with all my heart but amlooking for a buddy for him. Id like to have a young yorkie because hes used to my parents two girls.
